Ricoh appoints Simon Lane to national production role
Ricoh ramps up growth ambitions for Production Printing Systems business
SYDNEY, 16 November, 2017 - Ricoh Australia has announced the appointment of Simon Lane as country manager for the Production Printing systems business in Australia.
This role encompasses the entire Ricoh Production portfolio, including digital cut sheet, wide format, continuous feed and software solutions.
The general manager for sales of Ricoh Australia, David Phillips, said Lane's appointment was further demonstration of the company's intent: "Simon has worked in the digital print industry for more than 15 years, both on the vendor and client side, and has unique insights in to how Ricoh can best support our Production printing customers.
"We're delighted to have him join the business," said Phillips. Mr Phillips said Lane would be accountable for the sales results, while ensuring the Ricoh Production Print business is sustainable over the longer term.
Lane spent 12 years with Fuji Xerox in a variety of senior sales and marketing roles, and prior to that led PMP Limited's book printing start-up, dbooks. He formed a sales and marketing practice in 2015, working with clients in medical, technology, construction and manufacturing industries.
"I'm thrilled to join Ricoh," said Lane. "This company has fantastic solutions, great people and an absolute commitment to meeting customer needs. We'll stay focused on client outcomes and - most importantly - reinforce print as a compelling and enduring communication medium," said Lane.
"In the past two years, most of my work with clients has been to help them develop compelling value propositions, so they can differentiate themselves in competitive markets," said Lane. "This work has left me in no doubt that print providers have a valuable role to play in the modern marketing mix" he said.
"Smart marketing managers are rediscovering that tactics such as direct mail get genuine cut-through and achieve results. The new technologies being released by Ricoh only reinforce that power, and I'm looking forward to reacquainting myself with our client base and helping show them how to compete and win in the changing world of marketing communications," said Lane.
Ricoh Australia managing director Andy Berry said Lane will be an absolute asset to the business, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge.
"We are delighted that Simon has joined Ricoh. His skillset and experience of both growth companies and large multinationals will be invaluable as we drive our revenue growth and enhance momentum for Ricoh as a leading player in the production printing market," said Berry.
